Week Six: 2010 Elections
This is a crucial and strategic hour for our nation. We are looking at a horrendous debt load and a possible collapse of our economy – the ramifications of which will affect every person in America, now and in the future. There is blame that goes around from Congress, to Wall Street to our banking system. Greed and corruption seem rampant. What is tragic is that the decisions made in this hour will affect our children and grandchildren for generations to come. The devil wants to shatter the American dream and its unique call to be “a city set on a hill” for the nations: a beacon of liberty, prosperity and a true friend of Israel. The cause of our prosperity was holding on to the Judeo-Christian values for more than 200 years. But there is hope for America. But God has promised “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and forgive their sin and heal their land” (2Chron 7:14). Our hope is in the Lord. But the key is in repentance and humility.
There will be a definite chance for deliverance if we have a change in Congress in the upcoming 2010 elections. May the Lord help bring in a brand new set of Congressmen not besmirched by the corruption of lobbyists and special interests, whatever party they belong to. May they be people who will honor our Judeo-Christian heritage. May they bring control over our insane debt load, helping as the head of any household has learned. May they also care for our Armed Forces, thousands of young people who love our country and trust we will give them all they require for victory to keep our nation safe. May we once again be strong friends and allies of that lone democracy in the Middle East – Israel. God will bless us as we bless this land and people. That is His word (Genesis 12:3). In the 2010 Congressional elections we have a God-given opportunity to make a change. But first we pray, repent and truly humble ourselves before our God. We bind the strong principalities of anti-Christ, witchcraft, enchantment that hold this nation and its media in thrall. May God cleanse us, wash us, and send His Holy Spirit. May there be a great spiritual awakening from sea to shining sea, renewing every denomination and church to love God, His Word, and live by its standards.
This is why this final week of this Forty Day Fast our watch focus is prayer for the 2010 congressional elections. Please join us as we come to the final week of our corporate 40 day fast. Pray for every precinct in the USA. Drive around and pray ahead of what’s to happen in 2010. Bonnie and I have learned through experience that it is wiser to pray and fast ahead of future events and not when we are in the middle of crisis.
Now is the time to claim God’s victory. We thank each of you that have joined with us in this season of fasting up to this point. In this last week of the fast, we are asking each of you to consider setting aside a time of specific fasting, that in the final days of this fast we would be a concerted voice joined together in prayer and fasting at an even greater level than we have been up to this point. We are standing together as one voice. We, the Church, are God’s legislative body on earth. Let us begin exercising His authority in our prayer, agreeing with what we know is the will of the Lord God of Heaven: that He had America in mind as a place where the Judeo-Christian ethic, the Gospel itself, Christian community and the law of God might be the foundation and influence on the formation and execution of civil government. We will have the victory.
“Lord God, turn the tide in America for the sake of our children. Restore us to our ancient covenants with You. God we pray as the foundations are being shaken by new and godless thinking, ideologies, policies, economic straits and troubles of war, “Jesus save us!” We have no one to help us We in this battle but You.” God of Angel Armies, pull down the wicked and raise up the righteous in the 2010 elections. In Jesus’ name we bind principalities and powers, and spiritual forces of wickedness that have settled into high places over America. We loose the power of Jesus’ blood against every power that would exalt itself against the purposes You intended for this nation when You first shed Your light on these shores. Through the cross every curse has been broken, and we claim the perfect blessing that has come through the divine obedience and exchange of Jesus at Calvary. He became poor that we might have this abundant life. We pray for true liberty for America, and the breaking of the oppression of debt that would enslave our children for generations to come. Lord God, we pray, pour out Your Spirit. Come Holy Spirit. Renew the face of America. Let every heart, every mind, every eye be awakened and opened to fear the Lord and return to the God of our Fathers.”
