Matt 5:14

The mystery of Christmas is that for the first time since the creation of the world, God set in motion His plan to redeem a people that He would fill and inhabit with Himself. It is why in the time of great political oppression and hardship in Israel, the heavenly hosts filled the heavens with songs of great joy. A Babe was born in Bethlehem that would set all things right.

His star filled the night sky with the sign of His appearing. His Daystar is now arising in our hearts. No matter what the circumstances of your life or situation – you have this assurance – Christ in you, the hope of glory (Col. 1:27). Every believer of Jesus has been filled with God in us. Through His Spirit we have been made as lights in the world. And when darkness is most evident, that’s the time light shines the brightest. God created you to live in a particular time and place, in a particular generation that in the midst of darkness and deep darkness in the earth, light might shine by the Holy Spirit through you.

“Let your light shine, so that men might see your good works and glorify your Father Who is in heaven” (Matt. 5:16).

At Christmas time we are set for rejoicing. We look around and everyone is happy. We watch classic movies, see the Christmas lights and hear Christmas songs. The whole atmosphere is set for joy and rejoicing. But this is also the season with the highest incidences of depression and suicide. One of the reasons for this is because this is a season celebrating The Light of the world, and people are hungry for that Light, looking for that Light! Jesus calls you the light. You are an extension of the One enthroned in heaven through the living presence of the Holy Spirit. Especially during these days surrounding Christmas, we encourage you, everywhere you go, everything you do, to picture yourself as a light in the midst of darkness. You have an anointing – the presence of Emmanuel – Christ with us, in you. Be a light. Shed abroad the Light of Christ as you encounter people sitting in deep darkness. This is the Good News and Tidings of Great Joy announced by the angels at Christ’s birth. It is what we celebrate during the Christmas season. Do you see darkness? Be a vessel of healing and deliverance. You are anointed. God wants to use you to show forth His glory.

For God so loved the world He gave His only begotten Son…

The greatest gift ever given is the gift of the Son of God. He is the One who came as the great Champion to fight a bloody battle to lay hold of victory over sin and death and deliver everyone who believes from the kingdom of darkness into His Light.

As you prepare for Christmas and giving gifts, realize that there are spiritual, eternal gifts that you posses. In the anointing there are gifts of healing, deliverance, reconciliation and miracles that you carry and can give. We encourage you to be a gift giver in this season. You have gifts to give. You are the light.
