Thurs, Dec. 22, 2011 — Your Extraordinary Glory Story
So Naomi returned, and Ruth the Moabite her daughter-in-law with her, who returned from the country of Moab. And they came to Bethlehem at the beginning of barley harvest. Ruth 1:22
The Christmas Story is ultimately the story of ordinary people becoming extraordinary through encounter with the Glory! In addition to Mary, Joseph and the kings, princes and patriarchs listed in Jesus’ genealogy, God highlights a woman, Ruth.
Do you suppose Ruth imagined her name would one day be written in history? That at her husband’s death, she felt the hand of God on her life? That when she left Moab in sacrifice of all she knew she imagined that she would be in the lineage of the King of kings? Or that as she gleaned just enough grain to get by, she would one day be linked to the Bread of Life? Yet, this woman with the lowest heritage, in the lowest station of life in that day and age, is written into the annals of the greatest history in heaven and earth. She recognized the Glory and responded to His presence: “If I die, I die, but I don’t ever want to be separated from you! Your people are my people, your God, mine.” Her decision wiped out her natural history and forever links her life with our Lord’s and the epic record of His advent.
Every time you respond to the Lord’s presence, you are entering into His unfolding glory story. Your simple act of obedience open wide the door for the Lord to invade your mundane, day-to-day life and take you from zero to hero! The Lord wants to encourage you. Not one prayer you raise, thought you think, word you say, action you take, not one response to His presence is overlooked. Your life is on His center stage and one day you too will find your name written in God’s record of the very events that usher in the second coming of the King of glory!
In those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered. This was the first registration when[a] Quirinius was governor of Syria. And all went to be registered, each to his own town. And Joseph also went up from Galilee, from the town of Nazareth, to Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, to be registered with Mary, his betrothed,[b] who was with child. And while they were there, the time came for her to give birth. And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in swaddling cloths and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn. Luke 2:1-7

When we celebrate Christmas, we celebrate the certainty that God finishes what He begins. It doesn’t matter what we, our enemy, or anyone else does, God will complete the work He had in mind before Creation. |

Kairos is a moment where the Lord shoots His arrow of victory through our time and space and makes an opening for heaven to invade earth.
