Weekly Watch Focus: 21-Day Fast—2012 Elections

FRIDAY, January 13, 2012.
During this second week of our corporate fast, let us continue to humbly seek God’s face on behalf of ourselves, our families, our churches, and nation. Perhaps the most crucial election in a century will take place this November. May God give us leaders who will walk in honor or our Judeo-Christian foundations and lead us on a godly path of fiscal soundness, restored prosperity, and credible friendship with Israel.

Ezra 8:21,23, Then I proclaimed a fast there at the river of Ahava, that we might humble ourselves before our God, to seek from Him the right way for us and our little ones and all our possessions…So we fasted and entreated our God for this, and He answered our prayer.

1 Tim. 2:1-2, Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.

Part 2: Pray for Nigeria

More than 40 Christians were killed on Christmas Day in church bombings in Nigeria. The Islamic terrorist organization Boko-Haran took credit for these killings. These Islamic terrorists have created a reign of terror for believers in Nigeria. Pray for the church in Nigeria, that they remain strong. May God send a wave of revival through that land, and may the authorities be victorious over these terrorists.

Psalm 27:2-3, When the wicked come against me to eat up my flesh, my enemies and foes, they stumbled and fell. Though an army may encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war may rise against me, in this will I be confident.

Eph. 6:12 (Amp.), For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood (contending only with physical opponents), but against the despotisms, against the powers, against (the master spirits who are) the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere.
