 GUEST SPEAKER, Pastor Mark Matthews After nearly 35 years of pastoral ministry, Mark perfectly illustrates the truth, “don’t despise small beginnings.” The son of a farmer in Bismarck Illinois, Mark learned the importance of hard work and perseverance from a young age. After running from the Lord most of his youth, Mark was mightily touched by the Lord at the age of 25. Following his encounter with the Lord, he took a youth pastor position in New Orleans, Louisiana and experienced a tremendous season of revival among the city’s youth. He also served as worship pastor for four years in Kokomo Indiana prior to moving to North Carolina. Since 1989, Mark has been the Lead Pastor of Christian Life Center Church, located in Charlotte, NC. In 1997 Mark and his wife Sharon visited the Brownsville Revival and encountered a powerful move of God changing the course of his ministry. Since then his hunger and passion for God’s presence awakens and stirs the hearts of many to cry out for a move of God. The present move of God has brought him into a deeper understanding of the phrase “on earth as it is in heaven.” Mark’s heart is to see the Kingdom of God advanced through the model Jesus set before us - saying what the Father said, and only doing what He saw the Father do. Proclaiming that healing, deliverance and the supernatural must be a normal part of the Christian experience, Mark’s church has begun to see physical and emotional healings happening with regularity once again.
