Weekly Watch Focus: Jubilee Fast Week 3—Rosh Hashanah: Jewish New Year

FRIDAY, Sept. 19, Let us believe for fresh outpouring and blessings as we prepare to celebrate the Jewish New Year called Rosh Hashanah with the blast of the trumpet (Sunset, Sept. 24-Sunset, Sept. 26). We also note the beginning of the Feast of Trumpets marking the High Holy Days, “the Days of Awe.” This year we are entering the blessings of a Shemitta Year, the Sabbath year of rest, refreshing, and forgiving of debts (Deut. 31:10-11, Deut. 15:1-4).

In this final week of our 21-Day fast of humbling and repentance, we pray for the upcoming, mid-term elections. There are key senatorial, house, and gubernatorial selections that will be made this November. The senatorial elections are particularly crucial in determining the immediate direction for America, its economic prosperity, and security. Pray that we help choose candidates that will honor our Judeo-Christian foundations and be strong supporters of Israel’s safety. Bind the spirit of manipulation, witchcraft, and fraud in this time of choosing. Pray God will promote the righteous and pull down the wicked.

Thank the Lord for His divine protection of America these last few weeks. The reports of terrorists being apprehended at our borders makes clear that evil men plan harm on our population. May the Lord keep us and our children safe from future acts of terror that are planned against us. We release His angels to guard us, our children, Israel, and the nation.
We wish you all: Have a blessed Rosh Hashanah—“Shana Tovah!”

Lev. 23:24-25, “Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, ‘Speak to the children of Israel, saying: “In the seventh month, on the first day of the month, you shall have a sabbath-rest, a memorial of blowing of trumpets, a holy convocation. You shall do no customary work on it; and you shall offer an offering made by fire to the Lord.”’”

Ps. 33:11-12, “The counsel of the Lord stands forever, the plans of His heart to all generations. Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people He has chosen as His own inheritance.”

1 Tim. 2:1-2, “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.”

Lev. 16:24, Is. 60:12, Dan. 9:3-21, Ps. 29:11, 2 Chron. 7:14, Jer. 29:7
