Weekly Watch Focus: Yom Kippur—The Day of Atonement

FRIDAY, Sept. 26, 2014, As we enter the 10 Days of Awe that lead to Yom Kippur, we give honor to Jesus Christ for the expiation of our sins and the salvation of our souls through the Day of Atonement. This day only happens once per year, signifying that Christ died once for us, the Just for the unjust, to bring us to the heavenly Father. As our High Priest, He offered His blood within the veil, making atonement for the sins of all (Lev. 16:29). Only then could the Trumpet of the Jubilee sound forth on the Tenth day of the Seventh month. It is through the atoning work of Jesus that we lay claim by faith to the Jubilee blessings of the special Shmitta year. May we set aside this week to spend quality time in His presence, and honor the atoning work of our High Priest, Jesus.  May we humble our souls before the awesomeness of the shed blood of Calvary by which we have access to the throne of grace. Let us enter boldly through Jesus’ precious blood to obtain grace and favor for ourselves, our children, and others who need His divine touch of mercy. Now we can enter into rest and cry out for revival, restoration, and refreshing for our nation and hungry souls from every nation. May there be a turnaround. May the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob protect us from every planned terrorist attack.

Also, let us pray for our important, upcoming, November elections. May the Lord bind and expose all fraud across the nation. We pray God will promote the righteous and pull down the unrighteous. May those who truly honor our Judeo-Christian values be victorious.

Heb. 4:16, “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”

Rev. 12:11, “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.”

Heb. 12:24, “Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel.”

Lev. 23:26-32; Lev. 16:5-34; 2 Chron. 7:14
