What is Supernatural Evangelism?

An integral part of the Zion College curriculum experience is equipping students to evangelize with power by engaging them in weekly training sessions on evangelism and outreach, providing opportunities to implement what they’ve learned in the classroom. Zion College students take the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the streets with the expectation of seeing the Kingdom manifested with signs and wonders.

power-outreach-1Power Generation is one of the outreaches in which Zion College Ministry School students participate. Based on Acts 1:8, “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Power Generation desires to bring the true Gospel of Jesus Christ to children ages 5-13+power-outreach-2 who live in high-risk neighborhoods within our local community through events such as the Engage Youth Concerts and weekly outreach activities. In the future we would like to incorporate a mentoring and after-school program as well.

Supernatural Evangelism is much more than a class that instructs on the Scriptural basis and practice of evangelism, it also teaches students to recognize the guidance of the Holy Spirit and communicate encouragement, exhortation, and comfort to others. By participating in a variety of outreach events —such as Treasure Hunts and Neighborhood Visits— that include evangelism as a core skill, students are able to walk out what they’ve learned and operate in it as a lifestyle.

Treasure Hunts are a fun and effective witnessing tool used by Zion College students to bring the Good News of the Kingdom to every kind of person through supernatural encounters and demonstrations. Students are given a treasure map with categories like location, a person’s name, a person’s appearance, and what they might need prayer for. They pray, wait to hear from the Holy Spirit, write down what they hear and then get in groups to find the “treasure” God has revealed to them. Many amazing testimonies of salvation and healing have come as a result of these hunts. People are always surprised to hear that they are treasure and that they have been hand-picked by God to hear a word from Him.

Get on the Bus Ministry: students take buses into area high-risk neighborhoods and, with parental consent, invite children ages 5-13+ to an afternoon filled with food, games, prizes and learning about Jesus. These events allow children to have fun while learning valuable Bible lessons. All are touched with the Truth and love of God. At the end, buses transport children back to their neighborhoods.

christmas1Christmas Outreach is an annual event. We invite children and parents in local high-risk neighborhoods to celebrate Christmas at All Nations Healing and Revival Center. Working together with Power Generation, volunteers from All Nations and christmas4other ministries, Zion College students minister the love and generosity of Christ to all who attend. The children play games and have a chance to win prizes; gifts and candy are distributed. There is also a time of ministry. Many miraculous testimonies have come from children and parents alike that are touched by the Christmas Outreach.

Neighborhood Visits / Mentoring. Together with the Power Generation Team, Zion College students take part in periodic visits to surrounding high-risk neighborhoods. These visits provide opportunity to form relationships with the children who regularly attend our outreaches — and their parents. It also allows the children to be mentored in what it means to live out the Christian walk day to day in school and in the community. Students become role models and trusted friends as well as ministers of the Gospel of Christ.

Below are testimonies and descriptions of recent Zion College outreach events....

Takin' Him to the Streets

Your concept of Treasure Hunts will never be the same!  Zion College students together with members of All Nations Church Healing and Revival Center gather on the second Friday of each month to experience the reality of the Great Commission by participating in Treasure Hunts.  This radical and effective form of evangelism allows participants to hear from the Lord and minister salvation, healing, encouragement, and in some cases deliverance to the people they meet in various public venues.  Malls, gas stations, restaurants, any place is a potential target.

Just read some of the astounding testimonies from Treasure Hunters...

  • Our team had the clues 'Kohls' & 'bandage on elbow'. At the end of the evening we came across a Hindu mother and daughter shopping together. The daughter (her name was Pinkie & approx. 20yrs) has holding her arm, gently at a 90 degree angle close to her body with a cloth brace on her elbow. She explained her parents came over from India to support her while having surgery on her arm. As we explained the treasure hunt we became empowered with boldness and proclaimed that Jesus, the true Savior, wanted to heal her right in the store if she allowed us to pray. With her Hindu mother looking on, she agreed. We laid hands on her arm and prayed. After praying we immediately asked her to check her arm for healing. She said it was feeling better but not yet 100%. So, we asked her if we could pray again for the full healing and she agreed. She tested it again and she began extending her arm fully even while her stitches were in place with significant improvement. We were proud to represent the true God for a testimony to be taken home to India!

  • Someone in our group had the clue 'palm tree'.  While walking through the mall, our team passed a man with a palm tree patterned shirt sitting under a palm tree with his wife.  When we approached him he asked for prayer for his wife who just had shoulder surgery.  We were excited because 'shoulder' was on our list too. The couple are Christians who were visiting the area for an auto show and we shared testimonies of recent shoulder healings to build faith for healing.  We prayed and she showed immediate signs of healing, while reaching out with her healed shoulder she shook our hands and said,  "I haven't been able to do that since my surgery!"

  • Several members of our team had the clue 'Target' and one person had 'Blue Shorts' so we made contact with a younger male & female in the store. After initial contact, they shared they needed pray for a 'broken relationship' (another clue) and that a friend of theirs was suicidal and they didn't know what to do. As we were speaking to them their cell phone rang and it happened to be their friend who wanted to commit suicide on the other end of  the phone. We asked to speak to him on the phone but she thought he wouldn't speak to us. However we urged her it was divine appointment and we wanted to pray with her friend over the phone. At that point, everyone on the team began praying right in Target. The gentleman on the other end of the phone agreed to speak to us. While everyone was praying I was able to transfer the love of God, through a conversation on the cell phone,  to him and all seven of us said a prayer in unison and committed our lives to Jesus as our Savior! After the conversation, one of our team members picked up a box of animal crackers, right next to us, which had an 'elephant' (another clue) on it. What an amazing turn of events leading someone away from suicide and to the Lord!

  • One of our team members had six clues that were all relevant to an employee on her lunch break outside of Target. The clues were, yellow bag, bracelets, red shirt, single mother, Starbucks drink, & broken heart. Our team expressed to her she was highlighted as a treasure by God and he wanted to restore her situation and express His love towards her. After praying for her she expressed how moved she was by the experience. Later in the evening, we saw her again and she was overcome with joy and called her mom to share what the Lord did for her that evening. The Lord knew every hair on her head!

Come out and be a part of helping us take the love of Christ to the streets!

Influencing the Next Generation!

This past Saturday, May 22nd the Power Generation had its first outreach of the season.  It was awesome to see God meet us out there in the park.  The forecast was rain but the sky opened up for us and it was sunny the entire time we were there.  He was on our side!!  We even had a 3 year old girl cry during praise and worship because the Lord was touching her.  He said to let the little children come to Him so that's what we did.  We saw the kids the way their Creator sees them and were able to draw more of their destinies out by loving on them, encouraging them, and having fun with them.  The kids were definitely changed... but, through ministering to them, so were we!

His Miracles are for You!

DECEMBER 19, 2009. We reached out to several underprivileged communities in the Fort Mill area, inviting families to come for an afternoon of fun, music and gifts. Over 150 parents and children came, many of whom left with miracles of salvation and healing, and all of whom were blessed.

A Christian Hip Hop band called Mafia rocked the kids, and The ANC worship team led Christmas Carols. Facilitated by the Zion College Power Generation Team, more than 113 volunteers from All Nations Church, Strongarm Ministries and Grace Church came together to make this possible.

The atmosphere of glory was present for miracles. Jason Oberman, who delivered a powerful Evangelistic Message said, “I invited everyone who needed a miracle to come forward. I shared Pastor Bonnie’s story from the Watch and her Christmas miracle, and as I called people forward I felt like ANYTHING was possible.” The altar area was filled from end to end with children and adults who came forward for salvation or in need of a miracle.

There were several awesome testimonies:

Family Restoration: One woman has been helping drive the buses for Strongarm Ministries for several years. She and her daughter came to this event. She went forward, praying for a miracle in her relationship with her teen-aged daughter. Their relationship was strained and her daughter had been drifting into some dangerous social patterns. Unbeknown to her, her daughter responded to the Salvation call, and gave her life to Jesus for the first time. As we ministered to the mother, Jason had the newly saved daughter come over, and while they embraced he prayed over their relationship. They were both weeping and crying as they hugged each other. Later, the mother said she was majorly touched!

Knees Pain Free: A kid came forward who said his knees were hurting from playing football. Our team prayed for him, and then asked him to jump up and down. He was amazed. All the pain was gone!

One of our team members said that as he prayed for people, the presence and compassion of the Lord was so evident that he was getting choked up. People’s hearts were being bathed in the oil of God’s love and mercy, and they responded as their tears flowed freely in their encounter with God.

At the end of the event every child was able to pick out two gifts! Plus, we had several grand prizes that were raffled off: two new bikes, Bobcat tickets, McDonald’s gift certificates and several autographed basketballs from the Bobcats team.

One of the most amazing testimonies came as we were raffling off the grand prizes. Every child got a raffle ticket as they came to the event. One of our volunteers had really connected with two little boys. As the end drew near, she realized they had put BOTH HALVES of their tickets into the bucket. They would never know if their ticket got pulled. She went to one of the organizers and was able to get them each a new ticket. They finally got to the last prize – the BIKE! Jason pulled out a ticket. No one claimed it. The volunteer thought, “I KNOW that was one of these little guy’s tickets!” She was really bummed. Well, after waiting for a few minutes and no one responded, they drew another ticket. Guess what! It was one of the little boy’s tickets! He was so excited. I was completely amazed!

As he went forward to claim his prize, the volunteer felt like the Lord said, “That’s a prophetic word for this family. When I have a gift for someone, it’s for them. Nothing can keep them from getting it!” She went out in search of the kid’s family. She finally tracked her down as they were getting onto one of the buses to take them home. She told her the story behind her son’s raffle ticket. Then she said, “The Lord wants you to know, this is what He is saying to you and your whole family: ‘When I have a gift for you, it’s for you! Nothing can hold it back.’” The mother said, “Wait. Can you say that again and tell the story so my whole family can hear?” She called over her kids. She had nine children, plus some nieces and nephews with her! They were in tears as the Lord spoke blessing, hope and life into their family through this awesome Christmas miracle.

It is a promise for all of us who believe in His greatest gift, Jesus – and we pray that it will touch you and your family this Christmas: When God has a gift for you, it’s for you. Nothing can keep it from you!

Miracle Invasion at the Mall!

Tonight at the Carolina South Mall we met your prayer group members (Zion College Supernatural Evangelism Team) and they prayed for my husband who was on crutches with a knee injury. By the time we got home he walked from the car to our apartment up the stairs without the crutches. This was a divine connection straight from the throne room of God. My husband had been crying out to the Lord as to why he had to endure so much pain but tonight his deliverance came. As pastors we know that test will come, however; what greater test is to know that the Lord still loves us so much that the prayer team was in the Mall doing a mighty work for the Lord.

Although, we had not heard about you and your ministry the Lord knew this is what we needed tonight. Thanks be to the Lord for the great things that He had done.
