Watch Focus August 8th 2025: ‘Wars to Cease, Unity & Wisdom for Leaders’

1) He Makes Wars to Cease
 
This week we lay hold of Psalm 46:9-10, “He makes wars cease to the end of the earth; He breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two; He burns the chariot in the fire. Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”

We fervently pray the Israel Gaza and Russia Ukraine wars would cease hastily. We declare Psalm 70:1, “Make haste, O God, to deliver me! Make haste to help me, O Lord!”

We wield as a double edge sword over these nations and regions that God will be exalted among the nations and be exalted in the earth! May the Gospel run swiftly with power, the Church be built and Disciples made! We look to the Lord’s return and take encouragement from Matthew 24:14, “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.”

2) National Unity & Protection

We pray for the United States of America to be true to it’s name and be united and at peace as a nation. We pray unhealthy dissensions, gossip and talebearing would cease. We recognize Jesus warning from Matthew 12:25, “But Jesus knew their thoughts, and said to them: “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand.” We pray America would stay far from the extremes of fascism, communism and Marxism now and in future generations.

3) Wisdom for Leaders

We receive the wisdom of Proverbs 29:2, “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan.”

Proverbs 8 regarding Wisdom declares in v’s 15-16, “By me kings reign, And rulers decree justice. By me princes rule, and nobles, All the judges of the earth.” We pray President Trump and his cabinet walk in this wisdom regarding all local, national and international affairs.
